Dobry den! (Czech for Good day)

Spring has sprung in Prague, and with daytime temperatures already reaching 16C, I believe that we are going to enjoy a warm year. A couple of years ago the Easter weekend averaged 30C, it may happen again, wonderful!

I read that EasyJet, the UK’s low-cost airline, are going to develop a new promotional website, dedicated to the UK-Prague route. They would not supply me with any details, but have promised to notify me when it’s active. You will be the second to know …

We have no affiliation to EasyJet, but I am impressed by some of their offers. Last week, I visited their site www.easyjet.com , and found return UK-Prague flights from as low as £42.20. How can they do it? It appears that they have a sliding scale of ticket prices, with the first tickets sold being heavily discounted. Try it yourself, go to their online booking database, put in a few dates for, say, August - and see how cheap you can get here for. The best deal I have heard of is from a Czech student who flew from Bristol to Prague for £9.00!

Sadly, the Czech national carrier, CSA, www.csa.cz , has not yet got its marketing act together, and has a very unfriendly booking database facility. Saying that, in the past they have ran occasional reasonable offers.

As some of you may know, we are developing a web based front-end that will allow you to rapidly search all the major European Airlines ticket databases. This should help you find the best deals, without having to trawl around each site. We hope to have it operational in time for next month’s Newsletter.

Last, but not least - we are running an incredible offer for fitness fans - 5 star accommodation for 3 star prices, in one of Prague’s finest Hotels - the Prague Hilton. We are including free use of their superb fitness facilities (they have the largest fitness centre in Prague). What a wonderfully romantic idea for that special occasion.

Until next time, 'Na shledanou' (goodbye)
