Other Towns >> Trebon
Originally a settlement established in marsh land beside the Luznice River in the 13th century, Trebon developed into a serfdom town that flourished under the last Rozmberks´ rule in the 16th century.
The preserved town fortification along with five gateways and several bastions, were protected by a canal, known as the Golden Ditch, and by the Svet Pond from south. The large Renaissance Chateau, which is connected with the Rozmberks´ Library and Augustian Cloister by a corridor known as the Long Corridor, ranks among valuable monuments.
A number of citizen houses, which were built in various styles, are preserved in the historic town centre. Trebon is famous for its spa, fish ponds and for the trademark of the Regent beer. The town environs were proclaimed the Trebonsko landscape protected area and a UNESCO biosphere reserve.2
